Sejanus, one of the most Machiavellian schemers in history and arguably the most powerful man on Earth for a time, was born in the same year as Jesus Christ. Both were of humble origins, both rose to worldwide acclaim, and both were executed by the Romans less than two years apart.

The story combines a rich historical account of Sejanus with a new, original and convincing interpretation of the motivations of the conspirators Pontius Pilate, Judas Iscariot, Joseph Caiaphas, Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea (the latter two being members of Jesus and Mary Magdalene’s family) in their respective roles in the execution of Jesus Christ and the planting of the seed of Christianity.
